Adobe Training Overview

GoLive® 6.0 Level 1 is a hands-on instruction book that will introduce you to the basics of the Adobe GoLive 6.0 Web development application. We designed GoLive® 6.0 Level 1 for the student who knows the basics of the Windows operating system, but is fairly new to the GoLive 6.0 application.

Adobe Training Certification

GoLive® 6.0: Level 1 is one of two courseware titles that address the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Program objectives for the GoLive 6.0 exam. The ACE Program is for graphic designers, Web designers, developers, systems integrators, value-added resellers, and business professionals who seek recognition for their expertise with specific Adobe products. Certification candidates must pass a product proficiency exam in order to become an Adobe Certified Expert.

Adobe Training Prerequisites

To ensure your success, you must be familiar with the basic operation of the Windows operating system to take this course.

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Target Student

Anyone who wants to create Web pages, and who understands the fundamentals of HTML coding but wants to use a visual coding tool to help automate the process, would be an ideal student for this course.

Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need

  • Intel Pentium II or faster processor (400 MHz or higher recommended).
  • Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, Me, or XP operating system.
  • At least 96 MB of available RAM (128 MB recommended).
  • At least 90 MB of available hard-disk space.
  • CD-ROM drive.
  • 1024x768 monitor resolution recommended.
  • Adobe® GoLive® 6.0.
Performance-Based Objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Explain basic concepts about the Internet and the World Wide Web, and how to publish a site.
  • Navigate in the GoLive work environment.
  • Create a basic Web page by typing text and importing graphics.
  • Design a site from scratch, beginning with developing a site map, through final export of the site.
  • Import text into GoLive pages using several methods.
  • Perform character and paragraph formatting on text.
  • Create and format tables, and use GoLive's Layout Grid features to assist in page design.
  • Use images as links and create image maps.
  • Build a frame-based site to assist the viewer in navigation.
  • Export an entire site to a folder on your hard disk.
