Adobe Training Description

You have probably used Illustrator to create simple illustrations and logos. However, you may now need to create complex illustrations, print documents without any errors or color mismatches, or prepare illustrations for the web. In this course, you will create complex, robust illustrations that go beyond those you could create using Illustrator's basic tools.

You will create complex illustrations, manage color across a range of devices, and control how illustrations print and appear on the web.

Adobe Training Prerequisites

Before taking this course, you should complete the following courses, or have equivalent knowledge:

  • Adobe® Illustrator® CS2: Level 1
Delivery Method

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Target Student

Graphic designers or people switching into a design job or taking on design responsibilities. They will have some previous experience with Illustrator.

Hardware Requirements

  • Intel® Xeon, Xeon Dual, Centrino, or Pentium® class III or 4 processor.
  • 320 MB of RAM (384 recommended).
  • 1GB of available hard disk space.
  • A color monitor with 16-bit or greater video card.
  • 1024 x 768 or greater monitor resolution.
  • A CD-ROM drive.
  • A display system to project the instructor's computer screen.
Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • create a complex illustration.
  • provide support for PDF and PSD files.
  • convert raster graphics to vector graphics.
  • color an artwork using the Live Paint feature.
  • create a poster.
  • export a graphic for the web.
  • apply color management so that colors match as closely as possible.
  • prepare documents for composite and commercial printing.
Platform Requirements

  • Microsoft® Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2.
Software Requirements

  • Microsoft® Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2.
  • Adobe® Illustrator® CS2
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher).
