Moving From 123 Win To Excel: Select Feat
Overview

Students will learn how to apply their knowledge of electronic spreadsheets to the Excel environment.

Prerequisites

Windows orientation or equivalent knowledge; working knowledge of Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows versions 4 or 5.


Target Student

Students enrolling in this course should be familiar with the 1-2-3 for Windows worksheet environment and procedures, as well as procedures related to charting and database concepts.

Performance-Based Objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of the Microsoft Excel environment.
  • Manipulate data and navigate in Excel.
  • Move, copy, and format data in Excel.
  • Create and modify charts that represent worksheet data.
  • Sort and filter information in a list.
  • Explore additional Excel features.

Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need 8 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM) if you are using Excel. See your reference manual for hardware considerations that apply to your specific hardware setup. In addition, you will need printers if you want to print the worksheets created in the course.
