Microsoft Office 2000 To Office XP: New Features
Overview

Students will learn how to use the most commonly used new features of the applications in Microsoft Office XP. Prerequisites

Windows 2000: Introduction, Word 2000: Level 1, Excel 2000: Worksheets, PowerPoint 2000: Level 1, Access 2000: Level 1, and Outlook 2000: Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

Target Student
Students enrolling in this course should understand the basic skills of working in all the Microsoft office applications. Performance-Based Objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • * Use the new features of Office XP that are common to all the applications.
  • * Use the new features of Word 2002.
  • * Use the new features of Excel 2002.
  • * Use the new features of PowerPoint 2002.

Hardware/software Requirements In order to teach this course you will need student workstations with Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Microsoft Office XP Professional installed. The recommended hardware is a Pentium 133 MHz or higher processor, 128 MB RAM, and a minimum of 1 GB free hard disk space. A sound card and speakers are needed for a task in the lesson on Excel 2002. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher is needed; access to the Internet is required for Optional Task 1C-3 and Task 6B-7. Access to a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server is required for the lesson on Outlook.

In addition, you will need printers if you want to print any of the example files created in the course.
