WebSphere Training Overview

This course will use both instructor-led discussions and hands-on workshops to demonstrate how to create and manage IBM’s MQSeries environment. Within this course, each student will be exposed to the following topics; the major components of an MQSeries architecture (both local and remote), install the MQSeries server and client, depict the use of MQSC commands, PCF commands, role of MQ clusters, discuss MQ implementation patterns, role of different types of MQ queues, use of MQ Explorer and MQ Services applications, understand the role of Java Messaging Services (JMS), MQ transactions and syncpoints, security in the MQ environment and MQ triggering.

System administrators, network professionals and advanced web developers that will be maintaining MQSeries environments

Each student should have a strong background in either web-based developmend or system administration tasks.

Upon conclusion participants will have acquired these skills:

  • Understand the capabilities of MQSeries and WebSphere MQ
  • Depict the architecture of the MQ environment: Queue Managers, Channels, Local and Remote Queues and MQ clustering
  • Plan the implementation of WebSphere MQ on Windows
  • Install WebSphere MQ on Windows
  • Illustrate the different types of MQ queues
  • Perform simple customization and administration tasks using MQSC commands
  • Understand the concept of triggers and implement triggering scenario
  • Discuss the setup for distributed local and remote queuing
  • Illustrate the configuration of an MQ Clustering architecture
  • Implement WebSphere MQ Client access
  • Implement basic restart and recovery procedures
  • Perform basic problem determination and performance management
  • Discuss the configuration of MQ security
  • Setup security for queues, data access and for administration using role-based security
  • Depict the role of MQ channels
