AutoCAD 2006 Essentials
AutoCAD Training Overview

AutoCAD 2006 Essentials covers the indispensable core topics for working with AutoCAD. The objective is to make the student familiar with basic concepts and techniques. We will not attempt to present every drawing or editing command; rather we will cover enough key tools so that the student will gain a solid grasp of how the program works and be able to create a basic 2D drawing.

AutoCAD Training Topics

  • Understanding the AutoCAD workspace and user interface
  • Using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools
  • Organizing drawing objects on layers
  • Inserting reusable symbols (blocks)
  • Preparing a layout to be plotted
  • Adding text, hatching, and dimensions
While this course provides a solid foundation for working in AutoCAD 2006, some users will need further background. For example, issues related to drawing setup and creating blocks are beyond the scope of this class. Those who plan to use AutoCAD 2006 extensively and need this greater mastery should take ASCENT's full AutoCAD 2006 Level 1 course instead.
