E-Business Skills Training Overview

Students will be given an introduction to intranets and extranets, including the different components and applications that are enabled by intranets and extranets. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to discuss how to plan and build an intranet as well as the different issues involved in managing it. You will also be able to describe the various components of several different extranet configurations.

Prerequisites:

Intranets and Extranets: An Introduction was designed for the decision-making business professional who wants to understand and explore the intranet and extranet options that exist for organizations today. It is suggested that students have a basic knowledge of how the Internet works. An understanding of computer networking is also helpful. To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge: -- Technical Introduction to the Internet

Intranets and Extranets: An Introduction is designed for the decision-making business professional who wants to understand and explore the intranet and extranet options that exist for organizations today. It is suggested that students have a basic knowledge of how the Internet works. An understanding of computer networking is also helpful.


Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need: You will need an 133MHz or faster Pentium-based PC, 32 MB of RAM, 160 MB of hard-disk space, a monitor capable of displaying 800 x 600 pixels at 256 colors or more, Microsoft Windows XP, 95, 98, or NT 4.0, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.

Performance-Based Objectives
