Overview

Word processing is the use of computers to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. This course provides you with the techniques required to produce basic business documents. .

Course Objectives

You will create, edit, and enhance standard business documents using Microsoft Word.

Prerequisites

Basic computer skills would be helpful, but are not necessary

Target Student
This course is designed for any professional whose goal is to achieve ECDL certification. .

Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • create a basic document.
  • edit documents by locating and modifying text.
  • format text.
  • format paragraphs.
  • control a document's page setup and its overall appearance.
  • add tables to a document and customize the tables.
  • add graphic elements to a document.
  • perform mail merges.
  • use Word tools to make your documents more accurate, then preview and print a document.

  • A mouse or other pointing device.
  • A monitor capable of displaying 800 x 600 resolution.
  • A printer (optional).
  • A projection system to display the instructor's computer screen.

  • Either Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 1, or Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4.
