Overview
Students will learn advanced features of PowerPoint, as well as how to embed Microsoft Word tables and Microsoft Excel charts in a presentation. Students should have a working knowledge of PowerPoint, as well as a basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheet concepts.
Prerequisites
To ensure students’ success with this course, we recommend that they first take the following courses or have equivalent knowledge:
- Windows 95: Introduction
- PowerPoint 97: Making the Transition
Performance-Based Objectives
- Start the PowerPoint program, identify on-screen features, and navigate through
a presentation.
- Create and edit bullet slides.
- Use PowerPoint’s drawing tools to create a slide.
- Incorporate clip art and WordArt objects in a slide.
- Create and enhance organization charts, and create and edit charts by using
Microsoft Graph.
- Change the overall appearance of a presentation by using design templates and
the Slide Master.
- Run a slide show, become familiar with slide show options, and add notes to
a slide.

Hardware/Software Requirements
You will need:
- 8 megabytes (MB) of Random Access Memory (RAM) for use on Windows 95 (16 MB
is recommended); 16 MB of RAM for use on Windows NT Workstation.
- 80 MB of available space on the hard drive for a Custom installation of PowerPoint.
- A personal computer with a 386 DX or higher processor (a 486 is recommended).
- Microsoft Windows 95 operating system or Microsoft Windows NT Workstation
operating system version 3.51 or later. (PowerPoint 97 will not run on earlier versions
of Windows.)
- 3.5” high-density disk drive.
- Windows-compatible mouse and printer.
