Jasc Training Overview

Paint Shop Pro 7: Introduction is a hands-on instruction book that teaches students to use Jasc Paint Shop Pro for creating and editing images.

Target Student:

Students enrolling in this course should understand basic computer hardware and software concepts. This course was developed for the student who has little or no experience using Jasc Paint Shop Pro, and who needs to learn the basic skills that are necessary in order to begin using this program efficiently.Paint Shop Pro 7: Introduction


Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge: Windows 98: Introduction

Delivery Method:

Instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities and independent lab activities.


Benefits:

Students will use Paint Shop Pro's tools for the creation of custom graphic images, photo manipulation, perform adjustments to color balance and contrast, and prepare graphics for Web applications.

Hardware/Software Requirements

You will need:

  • An Intel Pentium 200MHz processor or faster.
  • Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0 or later.
  • A hard disk with a minimum of 75 MB of available hard disk space to install the software (200 recommended) and a minimum of 32 MB random-access memory (RAM) (64 MB recommended).
  • A CD-ROM drive.
  • A 256-color (8-bit) monitor (24-bit or 32-bit video display recommended) with at least an 800 x 600 pixel resolution.
  • Paint Shop Pro 7 for Windows.
  • A keyboard and a mouse.
Performance-Based Objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Navigate in the Jasc Paint Shop Pro environment.
  • Use Paint Shop Pro's tools for selecting, editing, cropping, and cloning graphic images.
  • Create shapes, apply paintbrush and airbrush effects, and create picture tubes.
  • Define color preferences, adjust colors and depth, and use channels effectively.
  • Create and manipulate layers and masks to manage complex images efficiently.
  • Enhance images by retouching photos, applying filters, deformations, and custom text, and creating custom buttons and text.
  • Use Paint Shop Pro's features to prepare graphics for Web applications.
