Mozilla Firefox 3: Introduction

You are familiar with computers and how they work. Computers have contributed to the rise and spread of the Internet, which has now become the driving force for networked societies around the globe. In this course, you will use Mozilla® Firefox® 3 to take full advantage of all that Internet has to offer.

Course Objectives

You will use the tabbed browsing feature to browse the web and access the information you desire. Mozilla® Firefox® provides you with a user-friendly interface with enhanced security features for a safe and secure browsing experience.

Prerequisites

This course assumes that you are familiar with using personal computers and launching programs. You should be comfortable in the Windows environment and be able to use Windows to manage information on your computer. Specifically, you should be able to launch and close programs, navigate to information stored on the computer, manage files and folders, and select text.

Target Student

This course is designed for persons with a basic understanding of Microsoft® Windows and the Internet, who need to learn how to use Mozilla® Firefox® 3 to navigate through the Internet.

Hardware Requirements

This course requires one desktop computer for each student with the following configuration:

Intel® Pentium® IV 800 MHz or higher
512 MB of RAM or higher
1024 x 768 generic monitor
40 GB of hard disk or higher
High-speed Internet connection
Compatible pointing device
Printer

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

explore the user interface elements of Mozilla Firefox 3.0.
browse websites using Mozilla® Firefox®.
search and download information from the web using Mozilla® Firefox®.
communicate with other online users.
manage information from the web using bookmarks and save web pages on to your local system.
configure the privacy and security settings in Mozilla® Firefox®.
